Minor dents / keys scratches at MacBook pro M1 Screen

Quite a lot more key (whole keyboard keys) impressions on the screen were seen ... while approaching customer care sometimes they are suspicious that it is cosmetic problem... Although I am quite caring about my hw as using air for last 3 years already..

Kindly help what to be done ... If inside or outside the warranty period .. how is this to be handled?

Is it considered a design issue ? I see on the forum may users are also facing the same issue.

Hi there Ketuls,

If the damage you're describing doesn't actually inhibit the use of your MacBook Pro, it's considered cosmetic, which isn't covered by the warranty:

This Warranty does not apply: (a) to protective coatings that are designed to diminish over time or batteries, unless failure has occurred due to a defect in materials or workmanship; (b) to cosmetic damage, including but not limited to scratches, dents and broken plastic on ports unless failure has occurred due to a defect in materials or workmanship;

Have a look at this link to view the remainder of the Mac warranty: Legal - Mac Warranty - Apple

With that said, you always have the option of having your Mac inspected by a technician to determine what steps to take next. This link will help you get started: Mac Repair & Service - Apple Support

Take care.

Hi

It definitely inhibits the use of the MacBook... Due to those key marks / dents on the screen the visibility is definitely affected.

Also, I don't think it is cosmetic as all the key marks are on the screen which seems to be weird due to the designing of the laptop itself.

Kindly help on the same thanks.
