I can’t link Spotify to Siri

Every time I try to que my Spotify music with Siri on the Home Pod, it says there’s a set up for that in Siri but I’ve done all the set up

Hi there Melissa,

Let's team up and confirm more details to better understand what's happening, along with ruling out some general possible causes:

  1. You mentioned already going through the steps for which you're prompted when attempting to play music from Spotify through your HomePod, but have already set it up in the past. If you've been able to use Spotify with your HomePod without any issues, when did this first start to occur?
  2. As it's prompting you to set it up a second time, have you already tried this?
  3. Are you using a different device to try playing Spotify music through your HomePod, or are you directly asking Siri to do this through your HomePod only?
  4. Have you already checked for an update for your HomePod? If not, here are the next steps to take to check for one: Update HomePod
  5. Sometimes a reset could resolve unexpected behavior: Reset HomePod

Cheers!

MelissaLibner,

We appreciate those additional details. To confirm, did you follow these steps from Play audio using Siri on HomePod to add this music service?

Add a music service to HomePod
You can play music from other supported music services on HomePod. Some music services require a subscription.
Note: Not all music services are supported on HomePod.
1. On your iOS or iPadOS device, sign in to the supported music service app.
2. In the music service app, go to settings, then add the music service to your HomePod.
3. In the Home app, tap the Show Homes button, then tap Home Settings.
Note: If you have more than one home, you see settings for your current home (based on your location). To edit a different home, tap Homes, then tap the home you want to edit.
4. Tap your user profile under People.
5. Under Media, tap the music service.
If you don’t want to use a music service with HomePod, you can remove it. In the Home app, tap the Show Homes button, tap Home Settings, then tap your user profile. Tap the music service, then tap Remove from Home.

If so and this continues, then we would recommend contacting the developer of this app next. They would be the best equipped to investigate this behavior further. How to contact an app developer

Take care.

Bruno - “an app hasn’t been set up for that with Siri” is the perpetual response I get when trying to ask Siri to play music on Spotify. I did all your steps and it’s a brand new device. Seems like apple doesn’t play nice in the sandbox with superior music streaming co’s - not cool and would return the HomePod if I could
