iOS 16.2 widgets don’t update for gmail

On the Home Screen and Lock Screen, my gmail widgets do not show the most recent emails or the correct number of unopened emails. It always says I have 0 unread emails.

Yes everything is updated. iOS and the apps too.

iPhone 12, iOS 16

Hello PessimistJohn,

It may help to try removing the widget and then set it back up, and see if this has helped with getting it to work as expected: How to add and edit widgets on your iPhone

How to remove widgets
1. Touch and hold the widget that you want to remove.
2. Tap Remove Widget.
3. Tap Remove again to confirm.

Restarting the iPhone can also help with some odd issues that come up by giving the device a quick refresh: Restart your iPhone

How to restart your iPhone X, 11, 12, 13, or later
1. Press and hold either volume button and the side button until the power-off slider appears.
The volume button is located on the left side of the device, and the side button is located on the right
2. Drag the slider, then wait 30 seconds for your device to turn off. If your device is frozen or unresponsive, force restart your device.
3. To turn your device back on, press and hold the side button (on the right side of your iPhone) until you see the Apple logo.

If you continue to have issues, and the issue only affects one app's widget, you may try reaching out to the developer of that app for guidance: How to contact an app developer

Cheers.
