Fix time and date; Lost admin password

My brother passed away and I have his MacBook Pro 13.3. I didn't use it for a while and in that time it lost its time/date information. The laptop is configured with a log-in password so I can boot it up, but I don't know the admin password. I need that to fix the time and date.

When I try to get on the Internet, all I get is an error saying I need to fix the time and date. Is there some other way to reset the clock? Or some way to discover the admin password or reset that?
