“Use Other appleID” not working in iMessage and FaceTime

When I try to sign into another Apple ID in iMessage and FaceTime , it will not let me and automatically signs into the iCloud ID. I’ve updated the software , signed out of both apps, restarted phone and other tips given in a previous unsolved question regarding this same topic - it has no resolution.

none of those steps work - I am still unable to sign into another Apple ID in iMessage and FaceTime

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. You can get some help with this using the Apple Support article: If you can’t turn on or sign in to iMessage or FaceTime


Turn off and restart iMessage and FaceTime
1.Go to Settings > Messages and turn off iMessage.
2.Go to Settings > FaceTime and turn off FaceTime.
3.Restart your device:
iPhone
iPad
iPod touch
4.Turn iMessage and FaceTime back on.
