I'm sure that it would require a certain type of fall and knock of your watch to trigger it or there would be 1,000s of false alarms being sent to 911 dispatchers.
With that being said, you can check to see if it's even enabled by going here:
Open the Watch app on your phone, scroll down to Emergency SOS and click on it.
Look at Fall Detection. Is it turned on (slider needs to be green)?
I hope that this helps you. I wish your knee a speedy recovery too!

I’m sorry to hear you got hurt. One of the limitations of the Fall detection is that it only detects hard falls. If you believe yours was a hard fall, you can contact Support and discuss it with them.
Right. If you are conscious and aware, you don't need the watch to dial 911 for you. So the best case would be for the fall detection to trigger an emergency only when you are knocked out and don't know it. This would be very hard to test.
I've had mine go off twice: when I jumped off a table and when I (inadvertently) jumped off a ladder. But it seems like I've done similar things with no alarm. I'm sure it looks for particular aspects of a fall to keep down the false alarms. Kind of like a glass-break detector doesn't respond to all the crazy noises it hears-- only breaking glass. Clever.
Good morning cvodave1950,
It sounds like you're getting it figured out :-)
Did you happen to follow my steps to see if Fall Detection is turned on. This thread would be for nothing if it's not enabled ;-)
If I understand it right if you fall it says you fell do you need help if you say no no 911 call if you say yes or don’t reply then the calls go out. Is this correct?
