Weird broad vertical bar on MacBook Pro 16 display

I have the exact same problem as described in this thread:

MacBook Pro 16": Weird broad vertical bar… - Apple Community

The bar is also at the same position (on the left 3rd of the display)

I wonder if this is a hardware or software issue???

Vertical artifacts are almost all caused by hardware issues limited to the display module itself. Only the software that stores the image initially and the display module (and Not ANYTHING in between) know anything about 'vertical'.

If you take a screenshot, and the artifact does not appears in the screenshot, that confirms the problem is in the display module.

I'm almost certain it's a hardware related issue, I'm just wondering if anyone had the same issue - especially on the same model of MBP (16" 2019, Intel) and what was the fix? Did Apple offer a replacement under a programme?

This laptop is very well taken care of and mostly used indoors, on a desk. I rarely bring it out. I'm surprised a hardware issue like this would occur - this is my first MBP with such a defect within 3 years.

Electro-mechanical devices fail at random, arbitrary, and captious times.

The most frequent reason for most failures is 'just because'.

Your specific failure is most likely caused by an advanced scientific principle called ...

... 'bad luck'.
