Facetime and Teams

Last week I could make a facetime call from my contacts when I tapped on the video icon it automatically dialed via facetime. This morning teams pops up as the only option for the call. My contacts are turned off in Teams so that is not the problem. Since i wasn't able to make a facetime call without teams popping up i deleted the teams app and now I can't make a facetime call at all. the video icons on all my contacts are greyed out. Why is microsoft infiltrating my apple devices. I need the teams app for work but don't want it in my personal life.
