GarageBand and Symbolic Links

I used to be able to use Symbolic Links on an external drive to store the library for GarageBand, but with the most recent MacOS update I noticed this is not functioning correctly more. I have an PCI Express drive named Pegasus connected to the M1 MacBook Pro (2020) via the Thunderbolt port. I used the following command to create a Symbolic Link:

sudo ln -s "/Volumes/Pegasus/MusicProduction/GarageBand" "/Volumes/MacintoshHD/Library/Application Support"

after removing the default GarageBand folder. The entire GarageBand library has already been copied to the external drive.

When I open GarageBand now it tries to reinstall the entire library in the default folder, not on the external drive, and if I give it permission it will overwrite the Symbolic Link that I created.

How can I get this to work correctly or is there another way to do this? I cannot keep the GarageBand library on the main drive, it only has 256GB.

Thank You
