My Mac Book Pro needs to have its battery fixed. How long does it take? Do I need to leave my Mac Book at the shop for a day?

Refer/call your to your local store for turn around time.
Typically these get sent out to a regional repair facility — I would expect no less then a 10 days, depending on availability.
