It's still using cellular data. I turned off wifi assist. I tether to my work phone, I open up the Nest app on my personal phone and view my security camera feed. Then I check the cellular data usage and sure enough, Nest is using cellular data on my personal phone.
Yes I am, lots of Instagram (pics and videos), twitter, web browsing, sometimes streaming video, but I assumed I would be safe, since I was tethering from my work iPhone. I will adjust the wifi assist setting and report back how it goes. Thanks for the reply.
