On Apple TV (2nd or 3rd generation), users can’t delete apps, but they can be hidden through Settings.

On Apple TV (4th generation or later), users can delete non-default apps. Select-and-hold, pause button, choose Delete, confirm Delete, done. Some default apps are not deletable (you can move them to a designated folder, if you don’t want to see them).
