Can I force my MacBook Pro to use RGB color instead of YPbPr color on an external display?

I've got a Dell P2419HC external monitor with which I usually use my Intel-based MBP in clamshell mode. However, each time I wake up my Mac, the colors on the monitor are all messed up (white becomes green and black becomes a royal purple sorta color). I know why—it's because the monitor always keeps resetting to using the RGB color mode, and it conflicts with the Mac's YPbPr color mode output, leading to me having to reach over to open the monitor settings to change it back again. Is there a way to change the Mac's color output to be RGB so I can conviniently start working without having to fix the colors again?

Hello DrYeet,

You can adjust the color profile for your Mac, so you can see if that helps. The steps are located at the article Change your Mac display’s color profile - Apple Support.

  1. "On your Mac, choose Apple menu  > System Settings, then click Displays  in the sidebar. (You may need to scroll down.)
  2. Click the pop-up menu next to “Color profile” on the right, then choose the profile you want to use."
