all standard playlists suddenly empty

after synchronising my iphone 12 with the apple music app on my macbook all my standard playlists are still there but completely empty (no songs listed). The intelligent playlists are completely ok. All my other devices like ipads now are missing the standard playlists, without even synchronising them with my macbook. I even loaded an older itunes library on my mac and it showed the same mistake (all standard playlists empty).

I'm not subscribed to apple music just using itunes. Thus there should not be any expired subscription issues. Does someone have a solution to get the self created playlists

Hi there CR1967,

It sounds like you may have had an Apple Music subscription at some point, because this can potentially happen if the songs were from the Apple Music catalog, as those are removed when their subscription ends.

If you never had an Apple Music subscription, are the songs from the playlists still in your Library? If so, you can remake the playlists again.

How to make a playlist in the Apple Music app

Create a playlist on your iPhone, iPod touch, or Android device
1. Open the Apple Music app.
2. At the bottom of your screen, tap Library.
3. Tap Playlists.
4. Tap New Playlist.
5. Give your playlist a name, then tap Add Music.
6. Find the music that you want to add.
• On iPhone or iPod touch, tap the music you want, then tap Done. If you add music directly from the search box, tap Cancel, then tap Done.
• On Android, tap the music you want to add, then tap Done The checkmark icon on Android .

You can also touch and hold a song, album, or playlist. Then tap Add to a Playlist to add the music to an existing one, or tap New Playlist. Or you can touch and hold on a playlist to download, share, or delete it.

Take care.
