Management of the location of songs in iTunes Mac

yes, thanks, but then what happened. ll the files are going to be duplicates on a new 'music' folder' ? Will they have to stay there forever? Can I delete the one located before in what it was their original place. Will I lost all the links?

Of course it is not iTunes but Music (Musique 1.2.5.here ) running on 12.6.1 Monterey.

I call it Itunes because I saw this software born under this name with all its handicaps I would really love to solve now if possible. And maybe thanks to you I'm about to finally do.

I've purge one by one 2 T of duplicates and I have now a clean file with thousand of unlinked ones. A music folder created overtimes I *** a new file. And plenty of playlist I would really not want to loose.

Could you please have a great suggestion to make? A little FaceTime Audio maybe?

I've checked in all the Library hidden fils and couldn't reveal it.

I have the path to my external hard drive that contains all the music iles.

If I disconnect that hard drive, I have a path to a file ( that is in the computer) called multimedia, but there is nothing in it , because it's all on that hardrive.

I use music (iTunes) since the beginning, (2001?) and I have a lot of files that's also why I use an external hard rive.

? I don't think it s a problem of language.

Also, the French forum has less professional people.

Ok great! I've set the integer value to 0 ( it was set to 1 before) but the music file I slide into my MUSIC window still goes to a folder named music.

But thanks a lot for the experience:t hat's the first time I see how to reveal invisible files other than from the finder library.

But as strange as it seems, I can't go back to the normal state with the visibles fils only available.

Every time I return to the music folder , re open it , the invisibles files are still there even when I close the finder windows..

I've restarted to get to the normal state, but know when I place a music file into the MUSIC window, guess what happen ; it goes directly to the trash.

Before (and that was one of the problems) they went into a folder located between all the files, named MUSIC instead of going to take place in their logical attribuate folder ( name of the artist and /or album, if there is one all-ready).

Now they go to the trash.

okay thank you very much, the problem of the trash seems now to be fixed, however the new files will always be housed in this new MUSIC folder and not in their respective place. I would very much like to find a solution because I would also have to start relocating all my files that have lost their links, more than 50,000…

Yes Musique is y external drive and the path under Monterey does use the /external/ step

Note that this is a folder that had been created by Itunesmusic with the donation suppose to assembly all the library. I had to do that also because ( I didn't not mention that before) I also have a lot of playlist I don't want to loose.

I've tried to read the fix links page, but then, I really fell lost, it is to much complicated for me, also I don't understand why, considering those problems can happen quite often, the apple developers don't suggest a easy way to fix them.
