The line is often long but the colored part of the line is only a fraction of it. If the colors in the line indicate temperature then the color indication should be the full length of the line.

Again, depends on the range of the temperature. If the range is small, the line will be short and inside the larger line. The larger line is about 20 degrees worth.

If the range is large, the line will be longer and can fill the entire larger line.

If the temperature change is just 5 degrees during the day, the line will be short. and if it's a lower temperature range, the colors will likely just be blue and light blue.

The inner line can also be in different places inside the larger one depending on the temperature range it's displaying. A Warmer range will show up to right side, while a colder ranger will show up to the left side.

A wider range will take up more of the main dark line.

The color inside goes from blue (cold) to orange / red (warm / hot). If the temperature does not go up to what would be considered warm or hot, they won't get orange or red, and maybe just a tiny bit of light yellow. If its very cold.

They are dynamic lines. They won't always be the same length, or show the same colors.
