All Apple products purchased from Apple online store during the past few weeks (i.e., received no later than December 25) are eligible for return from now through January 8, 2023. Note that the standard return policy only gives you 14 days to return your Apple product.

To return an Apple product, go to "Store" on apple.com and scroll down to the bottom of the web page. You should see this:

• Click on "Apple Store Account" and you will be prompted to sign in to iCloud. You will see Your Devices.
• Scroll down to Your Orders; click on "See your order history" and you will be able to view your purchased devices.
• Click on the one you want to return (in your case your AirPods) and select "Check return eligibility".
• From here, you will be guided through Apple's return process.

After following these steps, you should be able to exchange your AirPods for your preferred ones.

If you did not purchase your AirPods from the Apple Store, you can't return them to Apple, but you may be able to return them to the company from which you purchased them (for example, if you purchased them off of Amazon, you might be able to return them there even though you opened them by visiting your previous purchases on amazon.com).

The return policy only applies for products purchased directly from Apple, but check with the place from which you purchased them to see what their return policy is.
