How do I update the passcode on a Family Watch after initial setup?

I bought a watch for my daughter for Christmas and set it up before wrapping. Now she wants to have a different passcode than the one I set up. The options in the Watch’s settings are greyed out and there’s no passcode option in the Watch app when I select a Family Watch.


Is there a way to enable and then disable passcode changes? Or is the only solution to reset the Watch and go through the setup process again? Thanks!

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. The passcode on your daughter's Apple Watch can be reset from the iPhone used to set it. In this case, you can reset her passcode for her from your device. Follow these steps to do so:


Manage a family member's Apple Watch after you set it up
You can use your iPhone to adjust settings and customize features on a Family Setup watch:
1.Open the Apple Watch app on the iPhone that you used to set up the watch.
2.Tap All Watches, tap the watch under Family Watches, then tap Done.
3.Choose a setting to adjust.
