Can I change Siri’s cultural bias?

I live in Melbourne, and have an Australian iPhone. I think that is why Siri tries to translate my speech as an Australian accent, and in fact a broad Australian accent, which I certainly don’t have.

Does anyone know a way I can change Siri to expect normal UK English, which would be a far better match to my speech.

For example, if I say “to die for”, Siri will make it “today for”.

conversely, if I say the word “matey”, Siri won’t understand it unless I pronounce it “mighty”…

these are only a couple of examples, but I use dictation a lot especially for messages and it can drive you crazy over time.

In Siri settings I’ve got “English (Australian)”, try to set it and see if it works better.
