Match Dynamic Range

Why when Match Dynamic Range is on when I watch Hulu it makes everything dark, but when it's off the picture is so much better brighter and clearer. Is this normal for Hulu/Disney+ and the Match Dynamic Range to do this?

Seems to be an HDR10+/Dolby Vision issue with Hulu and Disney+?? Again when Match Dynamic Range is on Hulu/Disney+ content is dark and HDR10+/Dolby Vision indicator shows. When turning off Match Dynamic Range it brightens up video.

Hello KAO15,

If the behavior is isolated to specific apps, and is resolved when Match Dynamic Range is disabled, we'd recommend leaving this disabled while viewing their content. Turn on Match Dynamic Range or Match Frame Rate on your Apple TV

Go to Settings > Video and Audio > Match Content and disable Match Dynamic Range.

You'll want to reach out to the app developers to share any additional concerns around the ability to use this feature when viewing their content, as they'll be best equipped to provide support for their apps. You can find contact options for the app developers below.

Cheers!
