if i wipe my iPhone to turn it into Verizon for a credit, so i need to turn off "Find My Phone". It is now at the hello screen.

Yes. You need to disable Find My. So, log back into this,. and then disable Find My on this: Turn Off Find My On your iPhone or Other Devices - Apple Support. So, log into this in your Apple ID, and then perform s instructed here, including the iCloud logout: What to do Before you Sell, Give Away, or Trade In your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support
