Hi Uapilot,

Read the document: "Two-factor authentication for Apple ID" - Two-factor authentication for Apple ID - Apple Support

Two-factor authentication is enabled by default on new Apple IDs and cannot be turned off.

"If you're already using two-factor authentication with your Apple ID, you can't turn it off."

If you have an account where you only very recently activated Two Factor Authentication, note this section of the Apple support article -->

"If you updated to two-factor authentication inadvertently, you can turn it off within two weeks of enrollment. If you do, your account is less secure and you can't use features that require a higher level of security."

Then either there's some miscommunication or misunderstanding between you and Apple. I can't speak for Apple but it is quite possible that since two factor has been standard for several years now that not everybody knows about this service that is only available for holders of older accounts. I was helping somebody else with this this week and he said it did work, he just had to look in his junk email to find the email Apple had sent with an undo link.

Apparently THATS A LIE.

I just got off a chat with someone at apple who said I cannot change it back even though it WAS inadvertently changed this MORNING!!
