Unlike some models of iPhone, no model of iPad supports wireless (inductive) charging. The only method by which an iPad can be charged is using a cable connection.

NO iPads support wireless, inductive charging.

To have inductive charging, a device needs a glass area to act as an electrical isolator, to isolate the electrical charging current, and behind that glass, some magnetic component to trasmit the electricity from the wireless, magnetic charging pad to the charging circuitry hardware inside of the iPad.

All iPads have an aluminium back case/chassis. Metals are NOT an elctrical isolator, but an electrical conductor, which makes wireless inductive, “Qi” charging of an iPad a very bad and very dangerous, life threatening feature to try to implement, currently.
