Minecraft java on 2022 macbook pro

my boyfriend bought me a macbook and we were wondering if i could use my mac to play minecraft java since he has an acer nitro 5. i’ve seen conflicting evidence and i wanna be sure before i purchase the game to ensure it’s java script, thanks!

if you have to download java, be sure to get it ONLY from java.com
