How do I stop the Photos Library appearing on my desktop? It appears when I open Photos but does not close when I close Photos, I have to put it in the bin and delete it.

The Photos.app needs a Photos Library, where it can manage your photos. If there is no library, Photos will create a new one, when you open Photos. If you do not want a library on your Desktop, drag it to your Pictures folder, after you quit Photos. Then double click it in your Pictures folder to open Photos on this library, so Photos will remember where your Photos Library is supposed to be and can find it the next time you are using Photos.

I have tried what you said but still have the problem. This is a new Macbook Air M2 and I have transfered all my files over from Macbook Air mid '13, If that makes any difference. Also, when the photo library opens I get a message box saying Cannot Import Item(see below), so I click OK at the bottom and all my photos are there and I can access them but I still can't get rid of the Photo Library on my desktop
Ok, so I shut down then restarted the computer and it has now gone away and I can open it from Photo or Pictures, thanks for your help.
