When I want to save a voice message (in Messages, NOT Voice Memos), I tap "keep" under the message. Then I long-press the message and there is an option to "Save."
I know when I hit "keep" the message stays in the thread. But where can I retrieve the messages that I have Saved?

Audio messages sent in Messages, remain within the Messages app. They are not located any place else.
What that means is that to find any audio messages, you need to look through the thread it came in on.
Keep in mind that the default setting for keeping audio messages is "2 Minutes". If you want the messages to be saved, follow these steps:
If this was set to "After 2 Minutes", previous audio messages would not have been saved.
