Share File Can't Open Document

Shared a PDF file with my daughter from my iCloud folder to her iPhone 13. I tried by sharing to both her email and text. The message that comes up says: "Can't Open Document. This document can't be opened right now. Check your internet connection, then try again." I've never had this problem before. Is there a work around? Does she have to be on a private LAN to open the file?

Hello tsgroup,

Thank you for posting to the Apple Support Communities.

You may need to edit the sharing options to control who can access your shared iCloud documents. If you continue to notice an issue when sharing documents, please try the following troubleshooting steps:

  1. Confirm that all users have the latest version of iOS installed.
  2. Check that other apps are able to connect to the internet on the receiver’s device (Mail, Safari, etc).
  3. Make sure that the receiver has the correct app installed to open the file format that was shared.

Please reply back here with the results or contact Apple Support for more help.

Cheers!
