Iphone scam

Is it easy to create or find fake iphones? I just purchased a new in sealed box Iphone 14 pro max on Facebook marketplace. The IMEI was real, and good. The box was sealed. But when I opened it, of course not in front of seller, so I’m the fool, it was a real looking phone but it hand finger prints on it. I knew then i was duped. Phone didn’t turn on and didn’t charge. I took to apple store and they said even the sticker on the box was fake as it didn’t scan. Phone was fake too. I hadn’t seen any warnings on social media for this kind of stuff, just wondering if others have. Now I’m out $1500, hard lesson. But again, I’m the fool.
