Apple TV Snow and crackling white noise on Sony Bravia 4k

Been having some issues with my Apple TV having snow and crackling white noise upon switching to HDMI input. I’ve noticed some other threads has there been an update on fixes?

We have a few questions to help us narrow down what might be causing the static and popping noise you're hearing.

1. Is this occurring with the remote? Does this happen when navigating?

2. Also, is this occurring from the TV? Try turning down the volume and isolate the issue a bit more: Adjust video and audio settings on Apple TV

3. Also, is your Apple TV connected directly to your TV, or are you also connected to third-party speakers, sound systems, or HomePods?

4. Is this specific to one app being used, or is it occurring in any app you use, including only Apple apps?

Hi NashDash11,

The next best step, to help isolate the issue, is to remove the optical sound line converter.

By testing with just the Apple TV and Smart TV, this is can rule out the sound converter being the issue.

If it's still happening, see if a new cable helps the issue.

1. Is this occurring with the remote? Not with the remote. Both work fine native Apple TV and Sony.

Does this happen when navigating? Yes, when the Apple TV is coming on or from sleep mode selecting the input it is on White snow and noise, crackling sound with blinking green screen.

2. Also, is this occurring from the TV? Yes, Try turning down the volume and isolate the issue a bit more: Adjust video and audio settings on Apple TV. Already in practice because it reminds me of Poltergeist :)

3. Also, is your Apple TV connected directly to your TV, or are you also connected to third-party speakers, sound systems, or HomePods? No, additional speakers native TV speakers only, but I do have a optical sound line converter.

4. Is this specific to one app being used, or is it occurring in any app you use, including only Apple apps? All start ups is not an isolated incident when using it.
