Turn off widgets on Macbook Pro?

How can I turn off widgets altogether in my Macbook Pro? I have disabled them all, but when I swipe I get an empty notification box instead of actually navigating in the app I'm using. It's a frequent interruption and quite distracting.

Hello thingfinder,

You can remove widgets by completing the steps listed here: Add and customize widgets in Notification Center on Mac that are also listed below.

"Remove widgets from Notification Center on your Mac

  1. On your Mac, open Notification Center.
  2. Press and hold the Option key while you move the pointer over the widget you want to remove, then click the Remove button ."

Best regards.
