Colors on HDMI dataprojectors Ventura 13.1

Hi,

I have a problem connecting data projectors on my macbook pro M1. After connecting via the dongle, everything is displayed very intensely in green or orange. I tried new cables and also a different laptop and the problem persists with the macbook pro m1. Can you advise me on what could solve this?

Hi PetrCzech89,

I have the exact same problem. It was working perfectly fine 1 month ago. Did you find a solution? The other guy's answers are useless :-(

I have a workaround, but it's not ideal. When you modify the monitor setting, go to "colo profile", then scroll down. The last item "projector" allow you to modify the colors. You can remove some of the yellow tint.

Hi PetrCzech89,

Make sure you are following the steps on this page when you attempt to connect the projector to your Mac: Connect a display, TV, or projector to Mac. Be sure to follow all the steps in the order which they appear, as it will provide the best results.

Connect with a cable
• Connect a display to a USB-C port: Use a Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) cable to connect the display to the USB-C port on your Mac. For older displays, use a USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter or a USB-C VGA Multiport Adapter to connect the display to the USB-C port on your Mac.
• Connect a display, TV, or projector that has an HDMI connector: Plug the device’s HDMI cable directly into the HDMI port on your Mac. For more information about connecting a TV, see Use your TV as a display with Mac
• Connect a display or projector that has a VGA connector: Use a Mini DisplayPort to VGA Adapter to connect the display to the Thunderbolt port  on your Mac.
• Connect a display to a Mini DisplayPort: Plug the display’s cable directly into the Mini DisplayPort on your Mac.
• Connect an Apple Pro Display XDR: Plug the display’s Thunderbolt 3 Pro Cable directly into the Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) or Thunderbolt / USB 4 port  on your Mac. See the Apple Support article Set up and use Apple Pro Display XDR.
• Connect an Apple Studio Display: Plug the included Thunderbolt Cable directly into the Thunderbolt 3 port  on the back of the display, then connect it to your Mac.
• Connect an Apple Thunderbolt Display: Plug the display’s cable directly into the Thunderbolt port  on your Mac. For newer Mac computers, use a Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) to Thunderbolt 2 Adapter to connect the display to your Mac.
• Connect an Apple LED Cinema Display: Plug the display’s cable directly into the Mini DisplayPort or Thunderbolt 2 port  on your Mac. For newer Mac computers, use a Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) to Mini DisplayPort adapter to connect the display to your Mac.

If your display uses a video port that’s not available on your Mac, you may be able to use an adapter to connect your display.

We hope this information helps you out.

Cheers!

Hello PetzCzech89,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities.

We understand that when connected to your Mac the data projectors display and orange and green image.

Since the issue occurs with multiple devices, it sounds like it may be something going on with the projector. We recommend contacting the manufacturer of the projector.

Let us know if you have further questions.

Take care.
