I purchased an Apple MFI Certified lightning to 3.5mm adapter for lapel mic use and my phone doesn’t recognize the mic. To make sure it wasn’t the adapter, I used wired headphones and it worked perfectly…..which only baffles me more. Any suggestions on troubleshooting?? A setting I didn’t properly select?

Since you are not experiencing any issues with the adapter while connected to a wired headset, it sounds like the issue is with the mic instead. Have you reached out to the manufacturer for assistance with their mic? If not, this will be the first step we recommend since other accessories work as expected with your iPhone.
