Apple CarPlay

Hi, hoping someone can help me? There’s this one mobile number in my contact list whenever I call through Apple carplay the mobile number rings fine however, when the person picks up I cannot hear the person speak nor can the person hear me? I’ve tried via versa with this persons phone connected to my Apple carplay same problem I’ve also reset the phone a few times still get same problem. Can anyone give me any advice?
