AppleCare on gifted Apple Watches

I bought an Apple Watch series 8 for my granddaughter for Christmas and purchased Apple Care at the time. I also bought myself a new series 8 watch and purchased Apple Care. I gave my son my old Apple Watch Series 7 and had purchased Apple Care when new. So now I am paying Apple Care for 3 separate Apple Watches. My question is, even though 2 of the watches are no longer owned by me and not a linked item in my Apple account, is the Apple Care still valid for the watches I gave as presents. I would prefer to continue paying for the Apple Care (for the gifts) if the coverage is still valid.

Applecare is associated with the serial number of the product, not the person. However, it may make things (claims) easier if the correct person's name/address is associated with it. So, what you can do is call Apple at 800-275-2273 and ask to be transferred to the Applecare division. Absolute must: have ready your registration number ready for all plans. You can transfer the plan on the phone for all of them (including your son).
