Trying to complete iTunes 9 install in Vista

I have been trying to install the new iTunes and have even gone as far as removing all programs and registry keys associated with the previous version (including quicktime and bonjoir.) I keep getting the following error message:

+*There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor.*+

This is my home computer and I have no support personnel and I received the package by download from Apple. Please help?!?!!

Acer Aspire, Windows Vista

I had upgraded to itunes9 on my hp vista machine and encountered that Bonjour turns off the HPConnect.exe program for my wifi connection. I have completely removed itunes and all associated programs per the info on the support site, and restored my machine at least 5 times. No matter what I do it continues to close this program preventing me from connecting to my wifi router. Does anyone know of a patch or can I run an itunes9 install without Bonjour?
