My two Macbook Pro 15" (2008) no longer can access internet

Everything was fine this morning until my wife and I tried to access the internet on our Macbooks in the evening. My iMac,iPhone, Touch, etc can access the network but not these two computers. Recently, I used Migration Asst to migrate apps and data from one to the other. Read many posts and deleted the airport preference.plist and tried connecting manually with an IP address but that did not work. Been at this for about two hours with no luck. Any other ideas?

you could try running Network Diagnostics.
the quickest way to access network Diagnostics is to open safari. When safari fails to load a webpage it will display a message and there will be a big button with "Network Diagnostics"

Alternatively you can run Network Diagnostics by going to:
Macintosh HD:System:Library:CoreServices:Network Diagnostics
