Resetting the Ram:

1. See here: Speak Screen Not Functioning (iPhone X) - Apple Community
2. As it Reads: "Just a quick follow up. I had to reset the iPhone RAM once to get Speak Screen to work in all apps. (Power off. Hold the side button (Right side on iPhone X) until the Apple logo appears and then disappears. Press the side button after this to restart the phone."
