Primary & Secondary Lines Created After SIM Transfer?

My mom just upgraded her iPhone 11 (physical SIM card) to an iPhone 14 Pro (eSIM).

After calling Verizon to activate the new phone, her iPhone 14 Pro created a Primary & Secondary cellular account with her current cell number listed under the Secondary slot. I made all phone activity operable on the Secondary cellular account since that’s the one affiliated with her cell number. The Primary is currently blank/empty.

Is there a way to make her cell number the Primary phone number and then delete the secondary cellular? Her iPhone 11 didn’t give primary/secondary choices.

That's a wonderful question. You change how the plan is labeled by following the steps listed below. These steps are specific to naming phone lines on Dual eSIM capable devices. You can also find these steps outlined in the following article, along with additional information about using Dual SIM with eSIM if that's something your mom would like to look in to later.

Tap Settings.
Tap Cellular or Mobile Data.
Tap the phone number you're wanting to relabel.
Tap the current label.
Then tap a new label or custom label you'd like to use.
