Count date cells meeting a date condition

Hello! I'm a 20-year Numbers for Mac user but this simple need has me stumped.


I have a column of date-formatted cells in Numbers, and I want to create a cell that shows the count of how many of those dates are one year or less in the past from today's date.


In other words, a cell that shows how many of the rows have a date from within the past year.


I can't work out whether to use COUNTIFS, COUNTIF or what.


Many thanks in advance for any help.

One way is to do something like this:



In the example row 7 is defined as a Footer Row.


The formula in A7 is:


=COUNTIF(A,">"&EDATE(TODAY(),−12))


Replace the , in the formula with ; if your region uses , as a decimal separator.
