I have a iphone 12 mini and using it in India, with a BSNL SIM. I am not able to receive sms. Can somebody throw some light?

I put the same SIM in my iPhone 5 and there is no problem in receiving SMS. So the problem is not with the SIM

You may not have an SMS plan enabled by your carrier for the SIM/eSIM that you use on your device. Apple Inc does not provide SMS services

Please see the pic below. I have no issue with receiving SMS using my BSNL SIM
