Photo library face scanning

Hi all, I'm trying to get my photos app on my laptop to scan for faces. When I open my photos app, the "people" tab keeps saying "0 photos scanned". I have tried leaving my laptop plugged in with the photos app closed (and not letting it sleep). However, when I open the Activity Monitor to check on the progress, the "photoanalysisd" process is apparently using 0.0% CPU. I have tried restarting my computer, etc. but it seems to be the same each time.

If it's helpful, my computer is currently running macOS Monterey, version 12.6.
