Any news on the getting window app's to work with MacOS Ventura?

I mostly used the app MAGNET for managing windows on my computers - that both run the latest macOS Ventura systems, but in the last week it stopped working. I delted - reinstalled - and then tried out two other window managers. I'm presently on RECTANGLE. But it has the same issue: After a computer sleep the app does not work!

It seems an issue related to MacOS - according to what other users write in various forums. It should be something with permissions. Personally I have delted, restarted and re-installed three window management apps in the last three days. And they all seem to have the same issue.

Any experince with this will be welcome.

Ventura screen shot. Monterey appears the same.

Hey dialabrain, just figured out that a user in another forum suggest to "Lock screen" (from the Apple menu) and then reopen - and then at least the Rectangle app works. It also works here for me.

Give this a try: boot into Safe Mode according to How to use safe mode on your Mac and test to see if the problem persists. Reboot normally and test again.

NOTE 1: Safe Mode boot can take up to 3 - 5 minutes as it's doing the following;

• Verifies your startup disk and attempts to repair directory issues, if needed

• Loads only required kernel extensions (prevents 3rd party kernel/extensions from loading)

• Prevents Startup Items and Login Items from opening automatically

• Disables user-installed fonts

• Deletes font caches, kernel cache, and other system cache files

NOTE 2: if you have a wireless keyboard with rechargeable batteries connect it with its charging cable before booting into Safe Mode. This makes it act as a wired keyboard as will insure a successful boot into Safe Mode.

Add-on UI tweaks and hacks and customizations tend to be short-lived.

Changes to the UI can increasingly run afoul of security and integrity changes implemented by Apple; anti-malware.

Do contact the vendors.

Best long-term solution (for the third-party vendors) is if Apple adds customization APIs, or best long-term (for you, and not the third-party vendors) is if Apple adds support for whatever: Product Feedback - Apple

Sorry, what happens is that the app is running and is in my menu, and the commands are seen in the menu but are greyed out.

These kinds of apps are very difficult on modern macOS. For one thing, the Mac itself is a tiny fraction of the market. The best you can do is someone working part-time while looking for a real job. Trying to distribute via the Mac App Store is even more difficult, both technically and financially. And then there are free, open-source alternatives. Then a new operating system comes along with a new set of bugs and Apple developing its own window manager.

These kinds of system hacks are an un-ending exercise in frustration.

Just my 5¢ here, but I´ve been using "Moom" window manager for years, currently on an iMac running the latest Ventura 13.1. No problems whatsoever, so it might be worth having a look at it. A most useful app! You can get it here from the developer´s site:

Hope this helps you! Cheers!
