Exporting Pages document from iPad

I created a Pages document on my iPad (6th generation) running 15.5. Now I'm trying to export that document as a PDF. It seems to make the PDF rather quickly. When I take the next step to Share the PDF via Mail, the screen goes back to my desktop, and I can't find the PDF.

I can connect my iPad to my old MacBook Pro (running OS High Sierra 10.13.6! and shouldn't be updated) and I can create a PDF from the Pages document on iCloud, but the PDF isn't accurate.

I'd like to avoid the ancient MacBook Pro and create a working PDF on the iPad.

Any suggestions?
