On my IPhone: In Gmail, in Drafts, emails have disappeared

Hi I hope you can help me...

On my IPhone -

I was accessing my Gmail account

I decided to change the name of a Folder

I changed the name ok

But then I tried to access the Gmail Drafts folder but all the Drafts were not there

The Drafts that are missing are the ones I created on this Iphone

I can still see the Drafts that I created direct in Gmail on PC in a public library over many years

I have just created a new Draft email and this does show up in the Draft folder ok

Eventually this error message popped up on the screen:

CANNOT GET MAIL

The mail server "imap.gmail.com"

Is not responding

Verify that you have entered the correct account info in Mail settings.

- i had not changed the Mail settings,

but I did go there and checked and the Gmail settings looked the same as the Yahoo Mail settings

Many thanks

iPhone 13 Pro Max, iOS 16

Use a New App Password for Each Device:

Do you use an App Password? If so, try a new App Password. Create a unique on for each device. Remove the current one, and then use the new one instead. Sometimes, changes (i.e. updates) are made to the device, and then mail server syncing becomes an issue (which is what a new App Password it intended to fix).:

Deleted Draft eMails:

Log in to the eMail Provider:

If they do not reside in the Drafts folder, then what happens when you look on the eMail provider's site. Do you see them in the Drafts folder on there? If not, then they are gone.

Recovering Draft eMails:

Two Things:

A. Blank Drafts Folder:

Does this happen on all devices? Do you see this when you directly log in to the eMail provider on their Web site? If not, then it is an issue with your current user on device. If so, then it is something you should ask your eMail provider about.

B. Lost eMails:

You likely are running out of space, and your eMails are being deleted to make room as more and more come in. Remember that you are only granted a certain amount of space. So, are these actually in your eMail account when you visit the Web site of your eMail provider?
