How to Add Songs to an iPod without removing any of my Existing Songs

I found my iPod from cleaning my closet but I really do still enjoy my old songs but would also like to add more songs, I would not like to back up the old songs to my iCloud btw though.

If anyone could explain to me through video/images or through simple baby steps, that would be helpful.
