I am missing read emails from the mail app

I’ve recently purchased a new 14 Pro Max and transferred data via iCloud. I am missing read emails from the mail app that I have kept in my mail box for one reason or another. Is there a way to get them back without receiving 1000’s of emails in the process?

Hello CCLou83,

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. We see you have some questions about missing mail on your new iPhone, and we'd like to help. The following link may be able to help with what you're seeing, as it goes through steps for missing mail an iPhone: Delete and recover emails in Mail on iPhone

Recover a deleted email
1) Tap the Back button in the upper-left corner, then tap an account’s Trash mailbox.
2) Tap the email you want to recover, then tap the Reply button.
3) Tap Move Message, then choose another mailbox.

Do you see the emails on another device that can access that mailbox (computer, another iPhone, an iPad)?

Regards.

Hi CCLou83,

Thanks for following up. This link has some great general information About missing information after you restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iCloud Backup.

About your Mail and Notes data

Since your Mail already lives in iCloud, it isn't included in iCloud Backup. iCloud Backup does include the settings for your iCloud email account and any other email accounts on your device. After you restore from iCloud Backup, iCloud and your other email providers replace your available email messages so you can pick up where you left off.

If you set up your device to store Notes in iCloud, iCloud sends those notes to your device after the restore process finishes. To find storage options for Notes in iOS 10.3 or later, tap Settings > [your name] > iCloud.

Notes data stored by a third-party service (like Microsoft Exchange) isn't backed up to iCloud. Contact the provider of that service for information about how to retrieve your data.

You mentioned you see the emails in question on another device. Are you using a POP email account, or IMAP? If you're using POP, this might be normal, as emails are downloaded from the server rather than syncing across all devices.

Hi, thanks I know how to recover a deleted email. This is a transfer to a new phone. Emails that were read and in the inbox of the old phone did not transfer to the new phone. Emails that were approx two weeks old transferred over but nothing older. I can access these emails if I log into a different device but these were flagged on the iPhone for action so it’s going to be difficult to sift through all the emails and figure out what was flagged and why. Any help would be appreciated.
