Lost AirPods Pro case, still detected on my batteries widget

I very recently misplaced my AirPods Pro case (buds outside of case) on a road trip. When I look at my battery widget, I can still see it on my list of items (though the battery percentage itself is not displayed). Could that mean it’s still connected and somewhere in my car? or is it just a red herring?

Hello Everett_Wold,

The reason it's showing up in the battery widget is because you have AirPods currently paired with the device. When you have AirPods paired, it will show two separate items in the battery widget. An icon for the actual AirPods and then another one for the case. Because the case does not currently display a battery percentage (even if it's completely dead, it should show 0%) it does not appear that the case is in range of the phone.

If you're using a 2nd generation model of AirPods Pro, you may be able to locate the case using the Find My feature.
