how to place an app on the iPhone homepage
I reset my homepage to factory defaults. It caused me to lose many of my apps that I had purchased. How do I get my apps back on the homepage?

What exactly did you do?
Where are your apps now?
Did you delete them? If so, you an just re-download them from your purchase history in the App Store. click here ➡️ Redownload apps and games from Apple - Apple Support
If your just reset your Home Screen layout, your Apps should be there in later home screens ordered alphabetically. You can drag them back to whatever Home Screen you want them on.
If they are in the App Library, you can drag them out form there and onto a Home Screen also.
