Confirm iPhone Passcode

I recently upgraded to iOS 16.2 and when I opened Settings, I have an alert in Settings under "Apple ID Suggestions" telling me that I have to confirm my iPhone passcode to keep using iCloud. I would like to see something from Apple stating that this is a legitimate request and why it is necessary, since this code protects all my saved passwords and other sensitive data stored in iCloud. I find it peculiar that this would show up as a suggestion and that I can find nothing in Apple Support directly addressing this.

I have the same alert in Settings this morning, Mar 12, 2023. Several days ago I upgraded to iOS 16.3.1.

Can anyone please provide a knowledgable response here, other than a suggestion to get in touch with Apple Support?

Hey there Dirkhead,

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities.

For the best information on why your iPhone is asking for your passcode to continue using iCloud, we'd recommend reaching out to Apple Support directly from this link here: Get Support - Apple

They would be able to provide you with the best information.
