Wi-fi calling through wired internet on iPhone
I want to learn if there is a way of using the wifi calling feature with wired internet rather than a wi-fi connection. I know that most users don't even know iPhones support cable internet but still there are multiple use cases at least for me and hopefully for others as well. For example in my case i prefer to put my iPhone on a lightning dock and share my macbook's gigabit internet through internet sharing settings in OSX. So this way I can put my phone in airplane mode and reduce EMF exposure while I'm working on my desk. There are also other ways to connect ethernet to iphones, like Belkin ethernet to lightning adapter. So by using these methods, I can get super reliable and fast internet on my iPhone without using any wireless connection.
The only issue is, wifi-calling (also face-time and iMessage) only works over wifi and it makes no sense. I know its called "wifi"calling but in reality its just "internet-calling". So why does it only work when connected through wifi but not through ethernet?
Probably there is no way of achieving this for now because I tried a lot. But I hope Apple will soon make wifi-calling available when connected over wire.
